INTRODUCTION TO INKLE LOOM WEAVING (SOLD OUT)

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the joys of Inkle Loom Weaving in a small group with two very experienced tutors. The inkle loom is ideal for weaving colourful belts, bracelets, ribbons, guitar straps, dog leashes, decorative edging for clothing, even shoe laces! You will learn the history and use of band weaving, the features of an Inkle loom and how to set up a warp, then spend the afternoon commencing weaving, managing selvage edges, advancing the warp through to finishing off a woven band.The workshop is structured to teach 4 basic patterns which can be mixed and altered at home to achieve a wide range of band designs, and will peek into more advanced inkle weaving techniques.
The Guild will supply looms and shuttles for you to use, and you will be given full notes of the workshop. The workshop will run from 9:30 to 4:30 with an hour for lunch (12:30pm – 1:30pm).
