Modern Kintsugi Workshop
About
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the broken areas with gold lacquer.During the workshop, participants will repair a black square plate that has broken into three pieces using Modern Kintsugi.
Anyone can do this easily, and most of the materials can be purchased at a local hardware store, so after the workshop you will be able to repair pottery at home. The workshop will also talk about the history and philosophy of Kintsugi.
Children who are 10 years and older can also participate in the class.
There will be a break during the workshop, where participants will be treated to green tea and Japanese sweets.
The products used are non toxic, however, we apologize that pregnant women are NOT able to participate.
