Courage to Remember
ECU’s School of Education has partnered with the Holocaust Institute to offer a Professional Learning workshop.
The Courage to Remember workshop, facilitated by the Holocaust Institute of Western Australia (WA), will provide Pre-Service Teachers and experienced Humanities and Social Science (HASS) teachers with a taster of the education programs available and explain how they can incorporate these in their future teaching and learning of the Holocaust.
Led by two exceptional Holocaust Educators, Judith Lawrence and Shirley Atlas, participants will be involved in an engaging, interactive and thought provoking 3-hour workshop. The workshop will explore the rise of Nazi Germany post World War I, examine the anatomy of the Holocaust after the outbreak of World War II and describe pedagogy for teaching about the Holocaust. Participants will also have the opportunity to listen to a Holocaust survivor’s testimony and network with other HASS educators.
