This event is a celebration of the wonderful rural women of the South West Slopes region. We will also be presenting the 2024 'Half the Sky' Awards, recognising five extraordinary local women who are achieving great things in their work or business, in the community or elsewhere.
Why 'half the sky', you ask? There's an ancient Chinese proverb that says 'Women hold up half the sky'. We all know it - women are great contributors to our world. But unfortunately, women are often overlooked for recognition of their success. And that's where these awards come in ... to celebrate and reward the achievements and contributions of so many wonderful women in our area.
