Even if you don’t own the home you live in, there are many things you can do to live more sustainably including being more energy and water efficient. Come along to this workshop to learn how you can save money on your bills, your rights as a renter and how to speak with your landlord about enacting simple changes.
This workshop will cover the following:
- Simple tips to reduce energy and water use at home
- Easy to manage waste and recycling tips
- Non-permanent fixes that you can do to improve the energy efficiency of the home
- How to make good use of space and grow your own produce without altering the property
- How to manage your organic waste at home through composting or worm farms
- How to raise a home improvement idea to your landlord
- Tax deductions that are applicable to the landlord for making changes to the home to make it more sustainable
- Rebates and discounts available to help you access products to improve your sustainability (LED lights, worm farms, and much more)
- Free energy audits for those experiencing financial hardship to identify ways you can save money on your energy bills
This workshop will cover advice for all types of rentals, from houses to apartments, to help empower you to live sustainably in your home.
