Influenced by songwriters like Janis Ian, Carly Simon, Joan Armatrading, James Taylor and Van Morrison, Michelle began playing professionally around Melbourne and the folk clubs and festivals of Australia, later touring both the UK and US.Michelle has since been recognised as a talented musician, award winning songwriter and a compelling performer.
The content of Michelle's music extends across the deepest of emotions to the most captivating of sounds.
A contemporary artist and experienced musician working with a number of established performers including Janis Ian and Kristina Olsen and receiving high praise from both.
During and following the pandemic, Michelle has focussed on co-writing new songs for other Artists, and after a prolonged hiatus, she is excited to be playing with the next generation members of her family, her nieces Sophie and Phoebe Elsworth and the very talented multi- instrumentalist , Jim Seymour with a new interpretation of material including unrecorded songs
