Strelitzia Piano Trio presents a program underpinned by generosity, joy, nostalgia and optimism. It features some of their favourite music, that so essentially distils the intimacy and energy of great chamber music – from their beloved party piece, Haydn’s Piano Trio in sunny C major to the poetry of Schumann; the inexorable folk energy of Frank Martin’s Irish trio and Stuart Greenbaum’s nostalgia-tinged ‘Book of Departures’.
Strelitzia Trio was established over 15 years ago. The current membership has been performing together since 2015. Strelitzia has been widely praised for their innovative programs and advocacy of emerging and established living composers, producing three studio recordings with ABC Classic featuring newly commissioned and other Australian works.
