Westlakes Carnival 2024
About
The Westlakes Carnival is back for 2024. Sunday October 20th from 8:30am for Walks, followed by a 6 event Multi-event Carnival with IAAF pointscoring.(9:30am Sharp)
Walk Events
Walk event categories are:
- 9s (700m Walk)
- 10s and 11s (1100m Walk)
- 12s to 14s (1500m Walk)
- 15s+ (1500m Walk)
Medals will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each walk category for both Male and Female athletes
IAAF Carnival
Note: IAAF Point scoring means that athletes accrue points throughout the day based on performance rather than placing
Each group will do three track and three field events
We will also be including Multi-Class athletes for the first time in four categories:
- 8s to 12s Male
- 8s to 12s Female
- 13s+ Male
- 13s+ Female
Able Bodied age groups include 6s to Under 20s as well as Open athletes

Medals will be presented for the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters of each age group for both Male and Female Athletes
NEW FOR 2024: We will also have trophies for feature events for each age group. This event will be drawn out of a hat on the day.
Multi-Class athletes will also take part in the multi-event carnival but points will be allocated via classification (%) accumulation throughout the day. (Walks do not include a Multi-Class category)
Athletes do not need to be classified to compete, but you will need to provide a brief description of the disability so we can apply a nominal classification on the day for the purposes of fairness. (Please note that some disabilities are not able to be classified. Check Classification in World Para Athletics for more information)
The main IAAF Carnival will begin at 9:30am.
