Separating Parents are Raising Kids Programme (SPARK®) 2025

Separated Parents Are Raising Kids (SPARK®) program is an educational group that is designed to informand support separated parents who are in high conflict over their children. The program assists individual parents with a variety of skills to support them during an emotionally difficult time and to work in the best interests of their children during the separation process. SPARK® is designed to meet the suitability requirements of the Family Law Court for post-separation parenting courses.

Course Session Times:-

All sessions must be attended to receive the certificate of completion.  Some limited 'make-up' sessions maybe available.  (A nominal fee may apply). 

We understand that as co-parents it is difficult to juggle everything.  Ideally SPARK® is completed with other separated co-parents, so you can learn from each other’s experiences. However, we understand that sometimes your parenting arrangements may not fit into the SPARK® group schedule.

We would like to provide an opportunity for parents to participate in SPARK®, depending on interest we may be able to deliver additional groups. We are inviting you to apply with an expression of interest and provide 2 alternative times you are available. The timeframes will allow us time to review any other parents who are interested and place participants together. We will place you on a wait list until we have sufficient numbers to deliver another group, we won’t be looking at a large number of participants.

If we don’t have additional interest after one month of receiving your registration and completing your intake, we will contact you and offer individual sessions so you don’t miss out. If you are interested in this option and don’t want to wait until the next scheduled SPARK® group, please click on the ‘Book Now’ and choose ‘Expression of Interest’.  If you choose this option and we cannot fulfil your needs we will provide a full refund.

Dates for courses listed below.

Course Eligibility:-All participants are required to complete a short (30-60 minute) telephone interview at least one week prior to the commencement of the course.  Please note - your registration and entry to the programme is contingent on completion of the interview. You will receive an SMS 24-48 hours prior to your booked intake time.  Please be available for this call (via a private number) at the time you have selected, in a quiet confidential space with no children.  We cannot continue if you are driving or have children in the same room.  We cannot guarantee another space if you fail to answer this call.

Registrations for the course close ten days prior to the course commencement date of scheduled group programmes, if not sold out earlier.  

Please note, it is a requirement that all ZOOM participants have their camera on throughout all sessions.

Course Fees:-

$30 for six sessions - this includes participant material which will be sent via email to your address for ZOOM groups, or at the venue for face to face groups.  

Please call our offices should this fee be a deterrent to participation. 

Cancellation Policy:-

In the event of a cancellation, a $10 administration fee is charged if cancellation notification occurs within ten (10) days prior to course commencement.  No refund is given if cancellation notification occurs outside this timeframe.  No refund will be given if transfer to another course occurs followed by cancellation.   No refund will be provided if the course materials been posted.

Centacare reserve the right to cancel the course should insufficient registrations occur for group sessions.  Registrations will be refunded in full, or transferred should this occur.  

Transfer Policy:-

In the event of a request to transfer to alternative date options, notification must occur ten (10) days prior to course commencement.  Please phone Centacare to arrange this transfer.
