About
Western Australian award winning poet and playwright, Sally Newman is bringing an immersive poetry workshop to the library of S.A.She will guide you into creating luminous threads that move you through shades and shadows of poetry.
In 2024 Sally was third place in the WA Slam Championships and received 4.5 star reviews for her performance poetry comedy at Fringe World Perth.
Facilitating adult poetry workshops for local councils, library events, festivals and at highschools. Sally also mentored a small group of emerging poets to become published in the collaborative anthology "Unfolding Gently."
As a WA Writer's literati member, she strives to give her students and audiences a positive and creative interaction with poetry.
Participants will be able to submit poems from this workshop into the anthology of the same name: Morsels of the Mind, due for release early 2025.
This session will show you the diversity of structure, content and narrative within poetry and perception.
