Coogee SLSC - Summer Bronze Medallion Course 2025
About
This Bronze Medallion course is for anyone who wishes to patrol at Coogee Beach. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver at Coogee or anywhere else in Australia. You will learn surf skills, resuscitation techniques, basic first aid, rescue techniques, and more.Course schedule:
• First Aid: 9 February 2025 (all day, for those two who do not have a current First Aid Certificate)
• Qualifying Swim: 1 & 8 February 2025
• Classroom: Tuesdays 6:30-9 pm, 4 February to 25 March 2025
• Beach: Saturdays 8 am-10 am, 8 February to 29 March 2025
• Assessment Part A: 25 March 2025
• Assessment Part B: 29 March 2025
• Graduation: 30 March 2025
To qualify for the Course you need to:
• Be aged 15 years old or over
• 400m swim in the Ocean in 9 minutes or under
