This year we'll be highlighting the life of E. W. Cole, and his famous Cole's Book Arcade that used to be on the site where our bookshop now resides.
Come and learn more about the visionary who started Melbourne's bookselling tradition, and the marvellous (sometimes whacky) emporium he established, which stretched two city blocks, from Bourke Street to Collins Street.

We'll start our day cheering for the winner of the Hachette Book Haul, who will take the opportunity to whizz around our store at 9am on a 60 second sprint with a shopping trolley, filling it with their bookish heart's desire!

Our Guest of Honour for the Day is Amelia Mellor, author of The Grandest Bookshop in the World series, a terrific historical fantasy read set in the Cole's Book Arcade, featuring Edward Cole's young daughters, Vally and Pearl, who must race to save their father and the magnificent Arcade. Welcome Senor Kane Bergman - the witty Tastless Baker for a signing of his new book, Good F*cking Dough - teaching you everything there is to know about bread at home, with a stack of easy, tasty recipes.
