POST DRAMATIC ‘TROY’ DISORDER – ‘OWED TO WOMEN’
About
In mid-February, we stage our response to the first peace play ever written. POST DRAMATIC TROY DISORDER – ‘OWED TO WOMEN’, is a response to Euripides’ Women of Troy, about those who survived the onslaught by the Greeks, those who lived to tell of the murder, rape and infanticide enacted by bold and valiant soldiers on the innocent. Our play is set now, in a mythic place where similar terrors have occurred or are occurring. Sadly, it is not hard to truth name and shame these places. You know them. But think more broadly. Atrocity is not binary. It extends to all those living on the streets, to all the vulnerable in our society, and to women living in the utterly wrong and intolerable situation of domestic violence.
