When you instantly fall in love with somebody, a really lock eyes across a crowded room kind of moment, what do you do? Is thisfate? The will of the Gods? Do you have free will to choose your destiny?
Romeo loves Juliet, Joanie loves Chachi. Set in the world today, in a run-down cabaret at the end of the universe, two actors, or their characters, fall passionately in love. She is playing Helen (Demi-goddess of Sparta, most beautiful woman in the world). He is playing Paris (think the naughty boy of Troy fame). But she has a Marilyn Monroe fixation, wearing clothes, hair and voice that ape this candle in the wind. And he is Elvis obsessed. Nothing but a ‘hound dog’ who plays guitar, sings his idols songs and ‘can’t
help falling in love with you’.
