ArtsNational Lecture European Art of the Avantgarde
About
In 1917, the year of the Russian Revolution, the De Stijl movement was launched in Holland anticipating the opening of the Bauhaus in Germany in 1919. Through the works of Mondrian, Kandinsky, Breuer and other artists, and through exhibitions, publishing and teaching, ideas were exchanged that changed the face of art, design and architecture: an impact that has lasted into the 21st Century. For full details of the lecture see our website - https://www.artsnational.au/societies/hobart/
