Course Content includes:-
- * Current understandings in child development, and in the differences between adults and children's thinking
- * How to 'sort' children's behaviour to assist with parenting strategies
- * Common parenting mistakes - too much talking and using too much emotion
- * Avoiding being pulled into some familiar parenting 'traps'
- * Building warm, supportive relationships with children
- * 'Emotion Coaching' and parenting strategies that work.
- A useful companion workbook is supplied to supplement learning.
- Course Session Times:-
- The course comprises three sessions facilitated via Zoom (on selected dates) or at school venues.
- All three sessions must be completed to receive the letter of completion. Some limited 'make up sessions' may be available . (A nominal fee may apply).

- Course Fees:-
- Course fee is $25.00 for three sessions, which includes a participant workbook.
- Please phone our office if fees are a deterrent to participation.
- Course Eligibility:-All participants are required to complete a short (30 minute) telephone interview at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of the course. Following receipt of your registration, we will contact you to arrange this interview. Please note, this is a condition of inclusion in the programme. Please note - your registration and entry to the programme is contingent on completion of the interview. You will receive an SMS 24-48 hours prior to your booked intake time. Please be available for this call (via a private number) at the time you have selected, in a quiet confidential space with no children. We cannot continue if you are driving or have children in the same room. We cannot guarantee another space if you fail to answer this call.
- Registrations for the course close ten days prior to the course commencement date, if not sold out earlier.
- ZOOM programmes run by the Centacare FRS are best suited for people within the Greater Brisbane Area. If you are outside these regions please contact us prior to registration to ascertain eligibility.
- Course Materials:-ZOOM Groups:- All programme materials will be sent to participants by registered mail one week before the sessions commence. Zoom links will be emailed at that time. No material is distributed until after the telephone interview. Please note, it is a requirement that all ZOOM participants have their camera on throughout all sessions.
- Face to Face Groups:- Course materials will be provided during the first session.

Cancellation Policy:-
In the event of a cancellation, a $10 administration fee is charged if cancellation notification occurs within ten (10) days prior to course commencement. No refund is given if cancellation notification occurs outside this timeframe. No refund will be given if transfer to another course occurs followed by cancellation. No refund will be provided if the course workbook has been posted.
Centacare reserve the right to cancel the course should insufficient registrations occur. Registrations will be refunded in full, or transferred should this occur.

Transfer Policy:-
In the event of a request to transfer to alternative date options, notification must occur ten (10) days prior to course commencement. Please phone Centacare to arrange this transfer.
