We are smooth crystal, rough stone, coarse paper, and tacky ink. Through years of study, we have been scratched raw to uncover our creative eyes and artistic flair. Some of us are mathematically artistic with pixel-perfect layouts, while others are organic and approachable with hand-printed letters. Together, we are all curious and excited to be part of the intertwining textures that make up our industry. We are Raw, and we are ready.

BUILDING DESIGN

Diploma of Building Design students, have real-world experience of the design process while working with industry leaders to design a 2-storey, mixed-use commercial building on a corner lot. Building Design students have had the chance to tackle a realistic set of challenges, such as: Spatial Planning, Compliance and Documentation, Sustainability and Aesthetic and Functional Design. Utilising industry leading design and presentation software, students create a suite of presentation resources to be delivered to their clients.

REFINE CERAMICS

'Flow & Form' examines the intricate relationship between creation and transformation, echoing the natural forces that shape the earth. This exhibition showcases the work of advanced ceramics students in the ’Refine Skill Sets’. These works invite viewers to experience the convergence of natural flow and artistic vision, where clay comes alive through knowledge, skill and creativity.

JEWELLERY APPRENTICES

Apprentice Jewellers undergo on the job training and NM TAFE based training to complete a 4 year apprenticeship in jewellery manufacture. Specialising in all aspects of custom jewellery design ranging from diamond engagement rings with bespoke wedding and eternity rings, antique restorations, repurposing old jewellery into new designs and all aspects of jewellery repairs, all carried out under the supervision of a qualified master goldsmith.

VISUAL ARTS

Breaking Ground showcases the work of six graduating artists. Each delving into the complexities of the human experience with vulnerability, intensity, and purpose. Together, they present a collection of works that invite audiences to traverse raw landscapes of resilience, identity, and transformation.

The artists translate their lived experiences into visual narratives. Themes include identity and displacement in the aftermath of domestic violence, the visceral memory of an earthquake, the grip of anxiety, the subconscious and our fleeting thoughts, the land and experiences through an Australian Gothic lens and the sensory experiences that unveil sound.

In Breaking Ground, each artist unpacks their own take on survival and renewal, encouraging viewers to reflect on what it means to live, adapt, and endure. The exhibition becomes a shared space of introspection, urging us to reconsider the landscapes within and around us.
