Liz Frencham
Liz has the rare talent of being able to play the double bass and sing, both incredibly well. And at the same time. With groove. And emotion. A deep understanding of the song form and the horizons of jazz. Back when she lived in Sydney she was 1/3 of the band Jigzag, and she's here from her home in Western Victoria to play some duets with old friend Tim Bradley on drums.
Her three "You and Me" albums are fantastic Sunday afternoon listening, and give a great feel for the songs they'll be playing. As with those albums she'll play a mix of originals and standards (which could be anything from Radiohead to Vince Jones to Gillian Welch - but no promises, she might pull anything out of that bag). Did we mention she's also a fantastic lyricist, from the sublimity of Jericho to the ridiculousness of King of D.I.Y.? Liz also has some new songs which will be heard for the first time outside of the Radio Springs Hotel. A gig t
