About your hosts:
Amy Han is a writer and the founder of Words of a Feather, a creative writing studio for writers of all ages. A former instructor with Melbourne Parkour and the Australian Parkour Association, she has trained with the founders of parkour/ADD in Paris, and with several parkour communities around the world. As someone who didn’t grow up ‘sporty’, parkour helped her connect with her body, her physical abilities, and her courage. It also taught her important lessons about how to navigate challenges in all areas of life. For Amy, there is so much crossover in her movement and writing life that she can hardly imagine doing one without the other. She writes as she moves and moves as she writes. It’s all creative. It’s all life exploration. Her latest novel, The Yard Sale at Story House, was published in January 2024.
Dean Philp is a play provocateur and the founder of Moving Puzzles, a facilitation service for leadership, innovation and wellbeing. During his 10+ years coaching sports teams, Dean loves the deep connection among players who share a common goal. Meanwhile, as an Artificial Intelligence researcher, he realised that goals are stories about the future! Later he became a Fighting Monkey instructor, learning that stories about the future depend on the games we play today. Stories and play go together! As a Parkour coach, Dean loves to help people with creativity, which he sees as little stories played around obstacles. Today he uses Moving Puzzles to focus his sport, art, science and Parkour into helping humans solve complex problems through play.
