Alex Vargas performed at the first-ever concert for The Boite, when he was 17 years old. Since then, Alex has been a regular in The Boite programs. In 1984, he began performing with Chilean expatriate band Illapu and toured with them around Australia. A multi-instrumentalist, he will be performing Chilean songs alongside his daughter Tash Vargas in The Boite's special Open Studio farewell event.
