About
This event which a joint collaboration between Australia Nusantara Heritage Centre (ANHC) and Malay Council of Victoria (MCOV).It promises to be a unique and hands-on experience that celebrates Malay traditional culture, particularly the art of batik painting, which has been passed down through generations.
We are offering attendees the opportunity to not only learn about the history of batik but also to experiment with the canting (a traditional tool) to create their own batik designs.
This is an excellent family-friendly activity that encourages creativity, cultural understanding, and a deeper appreciation of traditional Malay crafts.
Itinerary:
2 pm : Open
2 pm to 5 pm: Batik workshop
3 pm: Malay dance performance
4 pm: Sepak takraw performance
5 pm: End
Traditional refreshments will be served.
