A special event featuring acclaimed Tibetan performers Tenzin Choegyal (Australia) and Tenzin Kunsang (Japan).Drawing on his nomadic heritage, Tenzin Choegyal remains dedicated to preserving Tibet’s musical traditions, at the same time effortlessly bringing Tibetan music firmly into a more contemporary setting.
He is joined by Tenzin Kunsang, a classically trained Tibetan singer, dancer and multi-instrumentalist, and second-generation Tibetan refugee.
In a thoroughly engaging afternoon workshop, Kunsang teaches Gorshey, a joyful circle dance often performed at Tibetan festivals and special occasions.
An evening concert with Tenzin Choegyal and Tenzin Kunsang takes the audience on a musical journey to the Himalayas in a celebration of dance, music, song and spirit.
Through their music and warm explanations, they delight new audiences and loyal fans alike with performances that transcend cultural boundaries and evoke images of Tibet’s high plateau and mountain peaks.
