Kintsugi for Clothing - Mending with Gold Threads
About
Discover the art of repairing your own clothing through hand sewing techniques rather than letting your favourite wardrobe items go to waste!Celebrating 20 years of Slow Fashion, High Tea with Mrs Woo are Newcastle-based designers that craft clothing and accessories for modern thoughtful living. They developed Kintsugi for Clothing practice to cherish and extend the life of clothing by visible mending with gold thread.
BRING: A few of your own garments with small holes that you’ve been wanting to mend. We advise for the size of the repair to be no larger than a 20c coin so that you can complete some mends in this 1.5-hour session. You'll learn essential mending skills using a simple needle and gold thread (supplied).
COST: Free! Please ONLY book if you can make it. Priority will be given to City of Newcastle residents.
This workshop is beginner friendly - open to all ages and abilities. If you have any access or inclusion needs, please advise us when booking.
