The Preston Symphony Orchestra invites you to celebrate its 75th birthday with an adventurous program of music, drawing on past achievements and future growth. The season for 2025 opens with a return visit to Preston by violinist Anne-Marie Johnson. Anne-Marie won the Youth Concerto Competition in 2008 – she is now the Acting Associate Concertmaster of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She is playing the Bruch Concerto for Violin No1 on 23 March. The concert also includes a major work by Melbourne composer, Katy Abbott, "Hidden Thoughts 3: Stories of Awe", and Shostakovich’s "Festive Overture". The conductor is Andrew Groch.Date
