AMEB (NSW) Examination Studios for Hire
AMEB (NSW) is pleased to offer our facilities at 117 Clarence Street for hire for practice and pre-examination rehearsal. Studios are available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) during business hours.
Studios are available for booking usually 3 to 4 weeks in advance. If your date is not displayed, please check back later. Bookings can be made up to 12:00pm on the Friday of the week preceding the booked date.
Availability
- Studios are only available at our facility at 117 Clarence Street.
- Studios are available on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 10:00am to 5:00pm and NOT available on weekends.
- Studios on Level 8 (studios 7 - 14) are only available during Metro Music sessions (late April - mid June, mid August - early December).
- Availability is published approximately three weeks in advance due to exam scheduling.
- Only those studios which are not scheduled to hold examinations are available for hire.
- We CANNOT GUARANTEE that you will be in your requested studio. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, however there may be occasions where we have to swap studios.
Studios
- Studios 1 and 2 on Level 6 have a Yamaha grand pianos.
- Studio 10 on Level 8 has a Kawai upright piano.
- Studios 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 on Level 8 have either Kawai or Yamaha grand piano.
- Studio 14 on Level 8 has a Kawai Shigeru concert grand piano. As there is only one studio with a Shigeru piano, availability is extremely limited.

Studio Rules
- Multiple bookings are permitted.
- All bookings must be made online through the website and must be paid before accessing a studio.
- No professional services will be conducted using the studios, ie teaching, workshops, etc.
- There is no guarantee of particular studio booking.
- Studios are not available on weekends.
- Studio hire is available only to individuals who are 18 years of age.
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while using the studio.
- Pianos in the studios are fixed in their designated positions and must not be moved under any circumstances.
- Any damage to studio property during the booking period will be the responsibility of the person who made the booking.
- Noise will be kept to reasonable levels.
- Bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability.
- Customers will receive a confirmation email from TryBooking once payment is processed.
- A maximum of 3 people are permitted in a studio at any time.
- No food or drink (except bottled water) is allowed in the studios and doors will be kept closed during use.
- Bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
- No more than 3 people are to be in the studio at any one time.
