WAFDC is hosting Auslan Workshop for Families!The "Auslan for Families" workshop, combined with Deaf Awareness Training (DAT), offers a fantastic opportunity to not only learn Auslan but also understand the cultural and communication barriers of being Deaf.
Here’s a breakdown of what your event will provide: Deaf Awareness Training (DAT): Deaf Culture: Understanding the values & what is culturally appropriate. Effective Communication: Tips and tools on communicating better with Deaf people, including using Auslan.
Recognizing Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is a language that is used within the Deaf community, and the importance of learning
Dates for 2025 are; 17-18 May, 9-10 August, 1-2 November
At the start of the course, Level 1 Auslan Book will need to purchased ($50.00) - please purchase online, and will be distributed during the first workshop. Auslan Level 1 Book will be valid for the first 3 workshops.
