The Write Links meeting will be held at State Library of Qld in Meeting Room 1B on Saturday 1 February 2025
This will be a hybrid meeting so at the point of booking select 'in person meeting' or 'zoom session'.

This is also a special workshop meeting so we charge a fee to cover costs of the guest presenter. It will be $20 or for Book Links members $15. In this interactive session, Richard will share his character-based approach to writing and model this approach via one of his short stories (provided to participants beforehand):

About Richard Yaxley
Richard Yaxley is a Brisbane-based author. His novels include This Is My Song (winner of the 2018 Prime Minister’s Literary Award; winner of the 2019 ACU Book of the Year Award), The Happiness Quest (2019 CBCA Notable), A New Kind Of Everything (2020), Harmony (2021), Leonardo Forever (2023) and Something Somewhere (2024).
Richard is also a past winner of the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award (Drink the Air, 2010 and in 2022, the inaugural QWC-Varuna Fellowship for Established Writers. He is a regular presenter of writing workshops and has been a judge for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the Queensland Literary Awards.
