About
Women in Lifesaving - International Women's Day Breakfast 2025
Event Overview:
Life Saving Victoria is pleased to invite its members to attend the 2025 International Women's Day (IWD) breakfast event on Wednesday, March 5th. This year's event will align with the UN theme of ‘March Forward’. With this in mind, we are very grateful to announce this year's inspirational keynote speaker, Rana Hussain.
Rana Hussain is a leading figure in inclusive leadership and workplace diversity and inclusion, she developed her expertise in high-performance sports. She's a prominent woman of colour in sports administration and media, often appearing as a broadcaster and presenter throughout the summer of cricket, primarily on ABC. As the founder of consultancy Good. Human, she guides organisations in fostering inclusive, high-performing cultures. With governance roles in Reconciliation Australia and Victorian Women’s Trust, she blends her diverse background as a Muslim, Indian Australian into her work.
This event will be hosted by the brilliant Carol Fox and will celebrate the contributions of our volunteer members, staff, and community in their many roles. We will also recognize outstanding women through the IWD Club awards, which honour their exceptional contribution to lifesaving. This breakfast session will be a cross-agency and sector event. We encourage our volunteer members as well as members of other emergency management agencies, the aquatic industry, sports and recreation industry, and other like-minded agencies to join us for a morning of inspiration and celebration. Attendees will have the opportunity to share, network, and connect with like-minded individuals.
