Workshop: Intro to Baroque Dance Notation

Are you interested in how Baroque dancers decode historical dance records and put them into practice?This workshop, presented by the Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria Baroque Dancers, will introduce participants to how the performers use Beauchamp-Feuillet Dance Notation. It includes the fundamental elements of the notation, basic step-units, their relation to music, and some dance practice. Although not necessary, some exposure to Baroque Dance ether as practitioner or audience would be advantageous.
The session includes a short break (tea/ coffee & biscuits provided).
Note: A basic level of fitness is necessary (you participate at your own risk). Not suitable for children.
The workshop is limited to 10 participants (minimum 4 participants required for the session to run)
Bookings are essential.
Tickets are not normally refundable.
