Kimbriki Hügelkultur Bed Creation
Come and join us to learn about this fabulous horticulture/permaculture technique of using decaying wood debris and other garden matter and compostable biomass to create a raised, mounded garden bed that can be planted out at a later date. This is a great method to re-use biomass to create a garden bed with enhanced soil fertility, water retention, ambient soil temperatures etc to benefit plants grown in it.
This method replicates the decomposition process and nutrient and water retention that occurs in the natural environment. Hügelkultur beds are said to be ideal for areas where the underlying soil is of poor quality or compacted. They tend to be easier to maintain due to their relative height above the ground. This will be a hands on workshop so dress accordingly please and bring some lunch.
