About

Sinjini was founded in 2017 by Perth’s eminent dancers, Dr. Sonia Nair (Kuchipudi), Sindhusmita Chauhan (Odissi) and Sumita Dutta (Kathak), with a vision to propagate and popularise Indian classical dance. After the success of previous productions, DIKSHA, SHIVOHAM and ANUBHUTHI, Sinjini will present GOVINDAM that will take you through the stories and teachings of Lord Krishna or Govinda. In his divine play he shows the entire universe in his mouth, he subdues the serpent Kaliya, lifts Govardana mountain while Yasoda, his mother playing with the savior of the world.
The Raasalila dance of Krishna and the Gopis carries the special message of supreme love, its circle consisting of special souls dancing with divinity and meditation.
In the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Lord Krishna brings his disciple Arjuna from perplexity to spiritual enlightenment guiding him to his rightful path. The program also features the special feature of Kuchipudi, dancing on the brass plate.
