All ages are stage ages. Setting is the living room of wealthy home on the outskirts of London. British RP accents.

ANN        50ish, elegant - has a wealthy and indulgent husband (not seen in the play but mentioned) Loves her children but doesn’t understand them. Unfazed by the events of the weekend; simply changes the arrangements. Superb, if showy, taste in décor.
JAMIE        Thirty something, Ann’s son. Indulged, a distinct individual, engaged to Diana who he's known for years. They’ve settled into a comfortable relationshi,ddrifted into the engagement - the upcoming marriage is more about what other people expect them to do.
HOLLY        Late twenties, Ann’s daughter; Jamie’s sister. Very fond of Diana. Is bringing Tom home for the weekend to meet the parents and relatives. Has had fun being single. Hasn’t found ‘the one’ yet, but is thinking seriously about Tom
DIANA        Late twenties / early thirties. Gorgeous. Comfortable with Jamie. Willing to settle for comfort until she meets Tom.
GEOFF        30 something, Jamie’s best friend and best man. Has been in love with Diana for all their adult life and doesn’t believe she should marry Jamie.
TOM        30 something, Holly’s new boyfriend.         Takes one look at Diana and BAM. (She has the same reaction
