The "domna," an Occitan word denoting female lordship, has been called a kind of third gender used to describe medieval women who assumed roles of power and governance. Our program features troubadour lyric poetry, thirteenth-century Spanish polyphony for female voices, and Spanish art song, alongside works by Guillaume de Machaut, Gilles Binchois, and Perotin.Date
