About
Come along to the Preventing Violence Against Women in Multicultural and Faith-Based Communities Forum for International Women's Day 2025 organised by the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne's Prevention Violence Against Women Program.
The Safe and Thriving CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Anglican’s Project was started by the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne (ADOM) in 2021, and funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). It aims to strengthen the reach of the Prevention of Violence Against Women (PVAW) program to multicultural communities by better centring their needs in this work. The project includes training for multicultural clergy, collecting feedback, co-designing resources, and developing culturally relevant materials for the community. Multicultural clergy also meet regularly in a community of practice.
We invite you to join us for the forum, to hear more from program staff about the project, to learn from Dr Lata Satyen, Deakin University about the available evidence base and policy context for this work and to hear CALD clergy share learnings and insights in a panel facilitated by Anu Krishnan, Kulturbrille.
We welcome all those who are interested. Especially people from Anglican churches, other faith organisations as well as family violence services, multicultural organisations, and PVAW sector agencies, to join us at this event.
This will be a 2-hour event with light refreshments provided. No fee for registration. Please register at the below link.
Hope to see you there!
