Aspiring artists of all levels are invited to join us for two unique watercolour painting workshops with Tasmanian artist and Visiting Artist Researcher, Tate Britain, and Turner specialist, Tony Smibert AM.Starting with the natural principles that provide the ‘secret’ to this beautiful medium, these Introduction to Watercolour workshops will provide an immersive and practical course to help you better understand the methods of watercolour painting. Offering a hands-on introduction to watercolour with Tony, these workshops will reveal important techniques used by J.M.W. Turner as you refine your skills & techniques.

Workshop 1, an introduction to traditional techniques, before moving into scale practice and tonal values.
W2 (3 DAYS) $1200
Thurs 12 - Sat 14 June
Workshop 2, explores the transition we see in Turner’s work, from scale practice to a system based on colour.
