Join us for a full-day Beginner Kora Workshop in the beautiful surroundings of Yarra Junction. This immersive session is perfect for those new to the Kora or wish to further develop their skills on the the 21-string West African harp, offering a hands-on introduction to its rich musical tradition.Throughout the day, youāll:
šµ Learn basic kora techniques and simple melodies
šµ Explore the cultural background and significance of the instrument
šµ Enjoy group playing and guided practice sessions
šµ Experience the meditative and rhythmic qualities of kora music
No prior musical experience is necessary, and koras will be provided. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply curious, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with this enchanting instrument in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
