Central West Comedy DUBBO - Ellen Briggs & Pete Helliar

YOU WOULD NORMALLY NEED TO TRAVEL TO A CAPITAL CITY TO SEE THESE FESTIVAL AWARD WINNING SHOWS, BUT WE ARE BRINGING THEM TO YOUR DOOR
Pete Helliar is a muti-hyphenate performer, who is firmly in the business of being funny- and makes it look dead easy!
Pete has performed in festivals, theatres, and comedy rooms Australia wide and is a regular fan favourite on our small screens – appearing in season three of Taskmaster Australia and as a competitor on The Amazing Race Australia. This follows appearances on Spicks and Specks, Thank God You’re Here, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee and Have You Been Paying Attention?
Pete co-produced two series of the award winning It’s A Date for ABC TV, and wrote, directed, and starred in all three seasons of Network 10’s dramedy How to Stay Married. Not content with being a star on stage and screen, Pete created and hosts the very funny cinema podcast You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet and is the author of the much-loved children’s book series, Frankie Fish and Herman Crab, both of which are published by Hardie Grant/Egmont. Pete has been one of Australia’s favourite comedians since his first appearance on TV, winning audiences over with his sharp wit and endearing charm
Ellen Briggs is an author, comedy writer, and professional MC but where she is most at home is on the stage doing stand up comedy. She is funny. Properly funny.
Ellen regularly performs as a comedian and MC at venues all over Australia, and has created a stand up comedy show called Women Like Us with fellow comedian Mandy Nolan that they tour all over Australia to packed houses and rave reviews. They set out to take a high quality stand up show into regional areas for audiences who often don’t get any entertainment, and ten years later and over 350 shows down, the show is more in demand than they ever imagined. In 2018 they released their co-authored book,” Women Like Us” which needed a reprint in the first week! They also have a hugely popular podcast of the same name.
She is also a writer on the hit TV Show “Kinne” starring Troy Kinne which is now in its third season of production. She is a popular and regular guest on ABC NSW’s political satire show Thank God It’s Friday, and her quick wit and relatable personality landed her a weekly spot as guest comedian on Triple M Radio on the Gold Coast, as well as often sitting in as co-host for their popular breakfast and drive time shows.
