Refining Your Story: Deepening and Polishing Your Manuscript
About the Event
Join us for a transformative 5-week course designed for both fiction and creative nonfiction writers. Led by experienced author and writing teacher Dr Lee Kofman, this course explores the idea that great writing isn’t about getting it right the first time - it’s about re-writing. Through practical exercises and guided feedback, we’ll deepen your work, getting closer to its true heart and uncovering the story it’s meant to tell.
We’ll dive into different styles of revision and explore which methods resonate most with your individual process. You’ll craft a unique revision checklist to guide your creative journey, learning key techniques to self-edit successfully. We’ll also cover tricks to gain fresh perspective on your material and refine your prose to make it tight, impactful, and vibrant.
This course is ideal for writers who are nearing the completion of their first draft, in the advanced redrafting stage, or those who wish to revisit and refine a completed manuscript.
Over the 5 weeks, you'll gain tools to improve your work at any stage of the process - whether you’re just beginning your revision journey or looking to perfect a finished draft.
