Oil Painting for Beginners
About
Create a seascape painting in two sessions.Learn about mixing colours and creating textures such as waves, grasses, and bushes.
If you already have oil paints, use those that you have. If extra is needed, the tutor will supply.
• Odourless turps to clean brushes and an old towel to cover the table.
• Disposable paper palettes are fine.
• Hog hair and/or synthetic paint brushes: flat and round, small, medium, large.
• Canvas panels, stretched canvas, or canvas sheets from an oil painting pad.
Note: Should be given an extra coat of acrylic house paint in white or light colour.

• 1 primed canvas panel
• 2 palettes
• A selection of paints to use
• Medium to dilute paint
• Solvent to clean brushes
• Brushes to use

• Old towel
• Baby wipes
• Lots of seaside photos
Easels supplied.
