Unlock the power of analysis with DAG theory!
Professor Lowe will present a user’s guide to directed acyclic graph (DAG) Theory – a highly effective way to visually represent your variables. Learn how DAG theory strengthens the causal inferences you can make from your analyses, and why it’s a growing technique used in allergy research. Take part in hands-on activities to teach you how to use DAGitty software so that you leave the session ready to apply the theory to your work. Lunchtime seminar
Hear from NACE Postgraduate Scholars, who will share the latest on their drug, insect and respiratory allergy PhD projects. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Training session 2
Grant writing skills: Developing a robust proposal
Master the four essential elements of a robust proposal – significance, quality, innovation and feasibility – and learn how to answer the vital questions for your next research project. Who needs your research? What makes a high-quality project? What novel and innovative elements are built into your research plan and how have you balanced this with risk? What involvement do you need from others to ensure your research is significant and feasible? DATE
