About
Samchykivka Art is a decorative folk art style from Samchyky village (about 300 kms west of Kyiv) and abounds in vibrant uplifting colour with hidden fauna that entices the imagination.‘The tradition of decorative painting of the village of Samchyky’ is included in the National list of elements of intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine.
At the workshop, you will learn more about Ukrainian culture, get acquainted with the cheerful Samchykivka painting, learn about the past and present of this colourful decorative painting and create your own painting in this style. The workshop presented by Anna Mychalchuk, a Ukrainian-Australian Samchykivka artist living in Hobart since 2022.
The workshop is designed for participants with different levels of art practice.
