About
Over the last forty years the first languages of Victoria have been reclaimed and awakened by Aboriginal communities and scholars. Adjunct Professor Dr Stephen Morey has worked with historical texts and Indigenous linguists to facilitate this work. This engaging lecture is an introduction to the Aboriginal languages of Victoria with details on historical collection, pronunciation, kinship and the importance of language work in the present. It is presented with the permission of the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Association and the support of the Aireys Inlet Uniting Church.All proceeds will go to the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners for language reclamation work.
