Renaissance Workshop
About
The Early Music Society of Queensland is pleased to present a one-day workshop featuring the music of the Renaissance period. Players of all instruments and all ability levels, plus singers, are invited to attend. Pitch is A440.An introduction to Renaissance music will be presented by Yvette Friend. Yvette studied music and recorder at the University of Queensland, receiving the University Medal. She is a Brisbane based performer, teacher and workshop presenter.
Group playing sessions will follow under the direction of Jamie Kennedy. Jamie is a trombone player and brass teacher and has played with orchestras including the Queensland, Tasmanian and West Australian Symphony Orchestras. He has also played sackbut with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
The day will conclude with a concert by the Brisbane Monteverdi Ensemble, free for workshop attendees.
