TASTE OF CRUELTY

About
In a work that is both beautiful and horrific, ‘Taste of Cruelty,’ blends theatre, dance, verbatim text, and performance art to probe into the wake of sexual assault. Using an interdisciplinary approach to play into and subvert expectations, Sara and Ethan use the body as a starting point to explore the themes of dominance and fear, while resisting unreasonable narratives of healing and hope. The work investigates the unpredictability and viscerality of misogyny; at the same time as it edges around the aftermath of things that remain unspeakable, systemic, and unresolved.
Created, directed and performed by Sara Cowdell and Ethan Morse.
