TNG Seed Saving Workshop

About
Join us for a hands-on Seed Saving Workshop. Learn how to harvest, store, and preserve seeds from your garden for future planting. We'll cover seed selection, drying techniques, storage methods, and the benefits of saving heirloom and open-pollinated varieties. Grow your own resilient, sustainable garden year after year!Hosted by Heather Macfarlane, Steward of Cygnet Seed Library
Demystify the process of seed saving by observing how plants (the experts in saving their seeds) do it. Learn about and practice different methods for seed saving like fermentation, winnowing, water winnowing and sieving. Discuss and connect to the deep human history of seed saving. We are only able to save seeds today because humans thousands of years ago did so, people thousands of years from now will only be able to save their own seeds if people like us save seeds. Seed saving is both a rebellious and also deeply simple and sacred act.
