Inventi Ensemble – Bach's Art of Fugue Friday 16 May 2025 Inventi Ensemble returns to Port Phillip Estate. Bach’s incredible masterpiece, ‘The Art of Fugue’ is an incredible and intricate work. In this performance, his music undergoes the Inventi treatment where it is arranged for flute, oboe, violin, viola and cello. The work itself was unfinished by Bach and in this concert Inventi have commissioned Geelong based composer, Kym Dillon to compose the completed chorale in a new and fascinating way. Each movement contains the theme of the piece but each time it is flipped on it’s head, turned backwards, transposed into different keys and treated with amazingly creative style yet at the same time mathematical precision. Inventi will lead you through the movements culminating in a glorious celebration of Bach. Join us for an evening of fine music and exceptional food and wine...
