Reflective Conversations Workshop. Garry & Les's Story

Join us while we explore the challenges older Australians, especially LGBTIQA+ people, face in accessing appropriate in-home aged care services.
We will be using the case study of Garry & Les to highlight one couple’s journey of accessing in-home aged care services.
During this workshop we will:
- Demonstrate the daily challenges faced by older Australians in accessing aged care.
- Explore the importance of providing a service which is safe, welcoming and inclusive for all.
- Explore the history and barriers of LGBTIQA+ people in accessing aged care services.
- Gain a greater understanding of why Specialisation Verification is important for CHSP Providers to undertake.
- Look at ways CHSP Service providers can actively respond to the diverse experiences, values and needs of each person who access care in line with the new Aged Care Act and strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
Target Audience: Managers, Team Leaders and Coordinators from all CHSP Service providers
