Pete Denahy

About
At the age of 11, Pete Denahy, already knew that he wanted to be a country singer. He taught himself guitar and started writing songs, but it was seeing Slim Dusty in concert for the first time that set him on the path to a music career. Little did he know at the time that only 12 years later he would be working in Slim’s band as afiddle player and doing a comedy spot on the show.
Well known for his silly, some might even say Zany, comedy songs, Pete is no stranger to writing a heart wrencher, but he is fully aware that his songs about Insects and Toilet Paper hold special places in the hearts of his fans.
His latest record, “She Loves Me To The Moon” is a a traditional country album, featuring his own fiddle playing, twangy guitars and wailing pedal steel. Produced by Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut Studio, it includes some of Australia’s best studio musicians and a collection of new tracks penned with help from the Wolfe Brothers, Mike Carr, Bill Whyte and Evan Murphy.
