Beyond the Book: Playreading Group

Join us for the launch of Mosman Library Service’s new playreading group, developed in collaboration with the Ensemble Theatre! Each month, this group reads a play that is currently being performed at the Ensemble Theatre, and attendees receive a discount to see the show. The meeting in May features one of Harold Pinter’s iconic comedies, 'The Dumb Waiter'.
Ben and Gus have a job to do. As they await instructions, their silence is disturbed by the rattle of a dumb waiter delivering peculiar food orders. Who is making demands for extravagant dishes when all the two men have is a packet of crisps? As the intensity builds in Pinter’s comedy of claustrophobia, Ben and Gus begin to question everything…and so will you.
No experience required, all materials provided. Attendees must be over the age of 18.
Free event, bookings essential.
