Blue Gum Walk Hornsby

This two and a half hour (5 km) circuit walk follows the much-loved Blue Gum track. Experience the dramatic changes in vegetation as the tall blue gums growing on the rich, volcanic soils of the Hornsby diatreme give way to the woodland on the iconic sandstone ridgetops. A haven for many species of wildlife, discover for yourself this stunning area right on Hornsby’s back doorstep.Grade: 3.5 (moderately challenging to challenging) – it sections of trail are hilly, steep and rough; a tricky creek crossing.
Suitability: Adults and older teens (16-19 years) with some bushwalking experience and a moderate level of fitness. Not suitable for children.
Duration: Two and a half hours (5 km).
